Long time reader of the #SecondLife newspaper the #SLNewser – you have to ignore the outdated look. #RelayForLifeInSecondLife is a huge fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, raising millions of real US dollars over the years. This is my… very first attempt to record a 100 Word Story, but it’s in a good cause. So if you must mock me, remember that. The reading takes place in Second Life on July 15, but the events in this little story took place in First Life at the end of May. Willow Leafstorm’s new music venue in Steelhead Nevermoor opened with a set of truly cathartic 80’s dance music – almost everything was a remix or a cover. And unlike some “all cover” sets, each song was… great in its own right. I heard old favorites sound new – and had completely different reactions to some of the lyrics, because I was hearing them in light of some of my most recent experiences out there in untidy, noisy, fragile RL. Still have not been inworld much aside from attending the Steelhead StHelens volcano party, which was a much-needed distraction (and great music by DJ Fuzzball and much SQUEEE-Ing by the presumptive Missus Ortega). It was a wonderful evening. Pictures are on my inworld profile feed. It appears our dear one is in the endgame. We can only hope for comfort and peace. She is certainly not alone, and neither are we. The change will allow avatars to fly unassisted to 4,096 meters. Any device that adds PUSH to an avatar, to overcome the old limit, will likely launch avatars on an exciting ride. Am I nuts? Probably. Here’s the deal: I have a surprisingly powerful Gateway SX2800-01 that I really like, except that its small case size made upgrading the lame video card really difficult. I ended up finding a low-profile, low-power card that fit, and it worked great for 2 1/2 years. For the record, it was a Galaxy GEForce GTX 9600 LP/LP, and its fan stopped spinning last week, and Iz had a sad since then. In September, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) launched an inquiry to determine whether Planned Parenthood uses public money to fund abortions. Planned Parenthood receives federal money but cannot use it to provide abortions. Komen has a long history of providing funding to various Planned Parenthood affiliates for such services as manual breast exams and referrals for mammograms and biopsies to check suspicious lumps for cancer.
