Checking Out My Old Digs #SL

I took a break from “stuffs” today to go back to my old home in Northfarthing. I “lived” there for more than a year, about half my total time since coming to Second Life. I love what DonPaul has done with the place! He’s added mystical mountains all around, and with the new Windlight settings I’m trying with Imprudence, it looks really beautiful. The Abbey of St Christopher’s has been remodeled – my old rooms are still there, the courtyard is still there, but there are new hallways and arcades, and more balconies for looking at the gorgeous mountains. And all…

    Walk In The Maine Woods

Here’s a nice walk in the Maine woods the typist took a few years back. I like the curved rails and may work them into a build one day. I’ve been working inworld, at last, trying not to get bogged down or immobilized by the fear of failure. Made more headway on the shell of the Steelhead St Helens dry goods store. Almost ready… have a lot of ideas, don’t want to psych myself out after being stumped. Speaking of which, I made a fair approximation of a stump after getting an example of one from a Steelhead neighbor to…

@m_ethaniel Old fan forum joke: "God is in the tub." # @radioriel Of course! Only tonight I was telling a friend how essential Radio Riel is to my experience. Had been listening to Reverie. # Thinking about Northwest Coast art, and texture tricks for my new place in #SteelheadStHelens http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Texture_Tools # @ElrikMerlin Climate Zombies want RRRRAAAAAAIIIINNNNNSSSSSSS # RT @TLW3 "Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth and prosperity of the nation. — Thomas Jefferson" Peace of mind and a mellow buzz, too. # .@DarrellIssa Ridiculous. Must be a parody, no member of Congress would be such a cartoon stick-figure…

    Rolling, Rolling, Restarts Next Week

Time was, I didn’t pay much attention to most of what SecondLife.com’s official announcements said, but I’m starting to take an interest. Especially now since the new CEO’s Twitter account AND parody Twitter accounts seem to be following me. It seems courteous to pay more attention and perhaps poke more fun. I’m a proud member of the Brotherhood (and Sister) of Marginally Competent Builders. Most of this makes no sense to me, a very damn casual user. But the rolling restarts look like they’ll be LOTS of fun. And since I’m now paying for Search and not seeing my stuff…

Resist Our Robot Overlords! Price Reduced On Virtual Land #SL

I’d just like to say that some robots are very nice people and quite funny. But the landbot ones that scoop up your land when you set the price to some crazy low price by mistake are a bit of  a nuisance. Heh, yes, I have a horror of landbots. I used to live next to a 16m parcel that had a daily visit from a mysterious Puppet person. I realize they perform a useful function, but they’re creepy. I’ve just reduced the price on the 512 lot to $L2250, and the 1024 lot to $L4500. Reasonably entertaining offers will…

Dragonlands Hotel: Shops, Rooms to Let, and Den of Iniquity #SLRP

The anti-vice factions are beginning to flex their muscles in Steelhead Shanghai; although it’s deservedly famous for its architecture there have been rumblings in the local news organ that a volunteer battalion may be forming up. *A notice appears in the places frequented by merchants, guns for hire, and bar/saloons where military types would frequent. The message itself is complete nonsense, unless you are skilled in military cryptography to decode the message, even then, the message is further in Latin, making it that much more difficult to translate. Once translated, it reads* Greetings, We, the repressed and downtrodden members of…

@MoodyLoner Dont know about Nook, but like the Kindle app for the iPad. # What are all these "Daily is out!" tweets? Is it a Lists thing? # And besides that, good morning! Built an igloo yet? # @fallingrock @m_ethaniel Cool… though it would turn out to be a spam or phish link. #thatsallrightthen # @MoodyLoner Excellent plan. # Wow. My new iAmygdala prompted me to follow back a bunch of really interesting tweeple. # Why is it the script kiddys always wear the same n00bie blue shirt and are less than a month old? It's so predictable. # Just…
