To STEAM or not to STEAM: Waiting to hear

Worked on a few new pet beds and a new Adventurer’s Hat last night and was worried about perms changing. Ran across something in the Building and Texturing Forum linking to this useful hidden feature: Debug Permissions is a tool which shows you granular attributes of your Second Life items. Permissions have numerous subtleties and with some practice, Debug Permissions can help you figure these out. You should have a firm understanding of next-owner permissions before using Debug Permissions. Oh hey, that’s useful! Wish I’d seen it before… Link: Debug Permissions – Second Life Wiki I applied for STEAM 7…

Time to #passthehat – a friend needs help

A friend needs a little help, so pass the pixel hat around. And try to make it to Mistletoe’s gig tomorrow! Link: RL Rears Its Ugly Head | Mistletoe Ethaniels Blog I always liked that phrase. Such good imagery. ”Rears its ugly head” conjures up images of a sleeping monster suddenly awakened, and as soon as you see that head come up, oh kids you know you’re in for it. Well, the ugly head that RL has reared in our world is none other than The Big One itself. It’s not death that’s already happened, however; nor is it a…

Oh Good, Dhughan Has More Time To Procrastinate Converting Items At #SLMarketplace

I’ve got several deadlines to meet before the typist goes on vacation to the western wilderness in a mumble-mumble days’ time. One of them just got pushed back, which benefits Dhughan rather than me, as I’ve finished converting my SL Marketplace listings (such as they are). We have extended the Magic Box migration to October 1, 2012 and will be providing a more complete Marketplace/Direct Delivery update within the next couple of weeks. We’d like to remind those of you who see any issues to please file a JIRA or contact support with your issue so we can confirm and address…

Ermagerd! SCRIRPTING in #SecondLife, Tiny Style

Bug went all tiny tonight and wandered into a scripting class in Raglan Shire given by Toady Nakamura, and learned 6 magical things before bedtime. ERMAGERD! Here she is playing with a scripted box that did different things when touched. Instructor Toady Nakamura had a “paws-on” approach to the material, you can see the edge of the panel she’s sitting on, which illustrated how “states” and “events” are done in Linden Scripting Language (LSL). At one point, Bug got her box to display funny phrases in hover text, like “ERMAGERD! SCRIRPTIRNG!” Then after making new friends and learning WAY more…
