    Ermagerd ZERMBERS! Ernd HERTS!

It’s been a satisfying weekend getting back into the swing of things. I’ve worked on several variations of hats, getting them loaded with textures. These 2 batches are texture change, one based on “acid burnt chiffon velvet” textures, and one based on some jewel-tone wools and crushed velvets from a different texture purchase. Both hats will have texture change hatbands, and slightly different cockade decorations. Some of the hatband textures are Art Nouveau fragments that I was playing with last spring, and some are some basic suede or exotic leather-like ones. What had partly bogged me down was how to…

At Home in Steelhead: Shanghai is no more, but St Helens Rocks (with bonus MESH KITTY CUTE)

The typist was on vacation the last two weeks of August, bumbling around the real-life Pacific Northwest on foot, by bike, by car, and by ferry. Oh, and by air, in that weird, awkward, and slightly intrusive way they fly in “real life.” So she missed the excellent “Exploring Second Life” meme started by Strawberry Singh. On her return, she was prompted to approve (or re-approve after an update, maybe) this old trackback about Steelhead by Inara Pey, which referenced this post about Steelhead Shanghai. Steelhead itself is the commercial centre for the community. here you’ll find the train station,…

New World Studio May See Update To Latest Version of #OpenSim Please #donate

UPDATE: Olivier Battini updated the NWS Group page with this great news: OK, here is the state of New World Studio : • Principal features are implemented and working quite fine • Updater system should work but needs testing • Some bugs left to fix In the last spurt of activity last year, my error has been to try implementing a whole bunch of features at once or at least in a short period of time, and as I became less available I could not manage the resulting load of work. This time, I will concentrate on adding stuff step…

Free, correctly proportioned shapes by Penny Patton

Definitely worth checking out, Penny’s guidelines could make for better builds, too. Her MP page links to her Second Life Camera Settings page. When using these shapes using her camera settings makes for an impressive change. I am so used to using the alternate camera settings for my defaults I am all OMG!, when a new install reverts them to system defaults. via New Penny Patton Shapes Released

ACK! Yes, I’m still around, and I missed my own rezday #SecondLife

I fell out of the world more than a month ago. Went on vacation with a rather antique Dell Inspiron laptop (oh, and my partner Rock as well!) and wasn’t able to log in using any of the various Second Life viewers at all. Then, wouldn’t you know it, all our favorite shows started up again, and some new ones started, and I was catching up on stuff via TiVo that I missed when I was inworld struggling with textures or animations or whatnot. I’ve been taking a long, long break from the kind of stress that had me up…

Steelhead St Helens in Second Life to go BEWM Friday 7pm SLT! Fun!

I’m really, really starting to enjoy the views on my little chunk of virtual paradise in Second Life: Steelhead St Helens. The reboot/rebuild that TotalLunar Eclipse did is really starting to come together, and new neighbors with pretty new houses and cabins have appeared, along with a horse ranch and some gypsy wagons. The church and sawmill have returned, and it’s all starting to look like… a rural community. It feels like one, too. Hint: Land is still availablel. IM TotalLunar Eclipse for information. Following a town meeting at Steelhead more on that later, I met with a few of…

Careers | Linden Lab: Something Magical Happening?

Rodvik Linden: Stay On Target There’ve been good things happening at Second Life/Linden Labs lately; Viewer 2 is improving, new-ish CEO Rod Humble/Rodvik Linden is actively engaged and sometimes actually building and making stuffs, there’s renewed emphasis on customer support and recapturing the irrepressible magic. Yes, yes, yes, there are still lots of problems, lots of hurt feelings, lots of nay-sayers saying nay (no linky love). But there are trends to watch at Tateru Nino’s stats page that are interesting. And now, the Lab is hiring again, after years of layoff announcements and sad farewells to popular Lindens who had…

    I Too Am A #SecondLife Hoarder

Just like this woman here, except that most of my stuff is not rezzed, it’s just sitting in my inventory making me wonder “what the hell is that?” And then a lot more of it is boxed up in an “organizer” which isn’t really that useful, and consists of freebies from various seasonal hunts that are individually nice, but collectively are a nightmare. What to do? The memories! I can’t dump them!

Selling Parcels In Tintafel UPDATE: 1 Down, 2 To Go

I’ve listed the following parcels for sale but of course it takes Search forever to register them as such – and I reduced the price on the first one, which of course is still showing at the original price on the big map. Now I see why so many SLoggers complain about search, in my dim and vaguely informed way. Current prices are set for $L2500 for the 512 parcels and $L5000 for the 1024 but I’m totally open to offers. I just didn’t want them to sell off to bots before some of my neighbors and friends had a…
